Post-Workout Smoothie From Team USA's Katie Bam
One of the keys to getting the most out of my training routine is by replenishing my body after my workouts with Team USA field hockey. Leading up to Rio, my U.S. teammates and I are training six days a week with practices and time in the gym, so I’m always looking for meals and snacks that are quick and easy, but also healthy.
My favorite snack to make after a long workout is a fruit and vegetable smoothie. Not only is a smoothie really simple, but it’s also a good source of carbohydrates and protein. A smoothie is easy to throw into a travel mug to help me stay fueled on the go during a busy training season. Check out a simple recipe that you can easily make in just a few minutes!
