STX Athletes Share Their New Year's Resolutions
For 2016, we asked some of our STX athletes what they’re striving for this year. Check out what their plans are below and share your own resolution with us by tagging @STXwlax or @STXFh with #NewYearResolution. Here’s to a Sweet ’16!
My New Year’s resolution is to be a role model for younger players and motivate them to reach their goals of playing at a higher level. With Rio coming up, it’s also a goal of mine to be one of the top players there and really work on my hockey skills, fitness and nutrition this year.

My New Year's resolution was actually stolen from my sister (thanks Al!). I want to write down one thing that makes me happy that day and put the note in a jar. We often forget the small things that made us smile throughout the year, so I think this would be an easy (and measurable!) goal with a great reminder at the end of the year when you open up the jar and get to read all of your notes.
Tucker Durkin, Team USA Lacrosse
My senior year at Johns Hopkins, our entire team spent every Saturday morning in the fall helping clean out houses in Baltimore City with Habitat for Humanity. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to participate the last couple of years in nearly as much community service as I would have liked. My 2016 resolution is to get involved with an organization where I can volunteer some of my time to help make a difference in people's lives, much like I did a few years ago with my Johns Hopkins teammates.
